Dr Jordan Tsigarides Biography
Dr Jordan Tsigarides (MBBS, MClinEd, FHEA) is an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow in Rheumatology based at the NNUH and UEA. He is the Virtual Reality (VR) lead for the trust and has been responsible for the creation and delivery of immersive content to healthcare professionals.
During his Masters in Clinical Education (MClinEd), Dr Tsigarides designed and conducted primary educational research investigating the acceptability and effect on assessment outcome of VR orientation material for simulation training. He led an initiative to innovate the final year problem-based learning (PBL) curriculum at Norwich Medical School, replacing traditional paper-based cases with 360-degree videos of realistic clinical scenarios aimed at developing students’ clinical reasoning skills. Within postgraduate medical education, he has developed multiple VR-based educational programmes focussing on the WHO checklist, identification of bullying and pressure ulcer identification. His work has been nominated for a HSJ award (2019) and he has presented on multiple occasions at international medical education conferences on VR.
Dr Tsigarides is an active researcher at the University of East Anglia Musculoskeletal Epidemiology Centre Versus Arthritis. His current research interests include the use of technology-enhanced treatment modalities, neuroimaging and the brain-computer interface in chronic pain syndromes.
